This pilot is aimed at showing how the host-neutral model allows efficient and flexible 5G network deployment and extends connectivity services to shady areas and areas where network resource needs are highly seasonal, such as beaches.
The objective is to implement an efficient and dynamic multi-operator neutral network in a tourist area that suffers from very different variations and peaks in the number of users.
Connectivity has become a basic and fundamental need in the work and leisure environment. Quality and speed connectivity in voice and image transmission offered by 5G:
- Data rate 10 to 100 times better than 4G networks.
- Response time (latency) of 1 millisecond.
- 1000 times faster bandwidth per unit area.
- Up to 100 more connected devices per unit area.
Operators need to carry out an efficient network deployment and for this the role of the neutral operator and the sharing of resources are necessary.
Based on this pilot, a neutral network will be deployed on a beach in the El Barcelonés region that will allow future sharing of resources between the different operators.
In this way, operators could offer a higher quality service and increase their coverage to areas that, until now, remained in shadow due to deployment costs.
