This morning, Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation, Huesca Provincial Council and Podoactiva signed a collaboration agreement on the joint performance of activities to encourage 5G technology in the province.
Miguel Gracia, President of Huesca Provincial Council, Eduard Martín, CIO and Director of Mobile World Capital Barcelona’s 5G programme, and Javier Alfaro, Technical Director of Podoactiva, attended the act of signing.
This agreement will give rise to the organization of initiatives based on 5G technology, which include a real concept trial with 5G applied to a Podoactiva solution. The project will be tested at The ThinX 5G Barcelona laboratory.
Mobile World Capital Barcelona has already organized talks and workshops in Huesca province, an initiative that through the signing of this agreement it intends to continue in order to familiarize companies, the public and institutions with 5G technology.
Podoactiva is a leading podology and biomechanics company that produces its own internationally patented technology. Founded in Huesca in 2006, the company has 18 clinics throughout Spain and over 150 podology units and 13 centres in a further eight countries. Its commitment to research and ongoing innovation has yielded protocols that have revolutionized the sector. These include 3D Scan Sport Podoactiva®, Smart Insole Podoactiva (the first personalized smart insoles) and Younext Football Protection, which are the first personalized smart shin guards, developed through its biotechnology subsidiary, Younext.
Huesca Provincial Council, as part of its mandate to encourage social and economic development and planning in the province, welcomes the opportunity to work with private initiative so it may benefit from synergies and make the most of the research, the knowledge and the reach both of Mobile World Capital Barcelona and of the company Podoactiva. The Council has therefore shown its willingness to collaborate at conferences and workshops and on training courses that are held in Huesca province and aimed at raising awareness of the benefits of 5G technology.
