The stand of Mobile World Capital Barcelona will host a space devoted to 5G technologies during Mobile World Congress next week. It will be the place to learn about the 5GBarcelona strategy, which aims at turning the metropolitan area of Barcelona into an open and neutral laboratory for 5G technologies.
At booth CS40 in Hall5, visitors will be able to see demonstrations of the three European H2020 projects selected by a jury of experts from all 5G projects funded by the European Commission. Visitors can also explore information panels about some of the use cases in which 5GBarcelona is working on within verticals such as entertainment, health, mobility and Industry 4.0.
For those who want to experiment with the possibilities of this new paradigm of mobile communications, there will be an interactive table to interact with a map of the metropolitan area of Barcelona and see the future infrastructures to deploy 5G, as well as the projection and impact that this technology may represent for the city.
On February 28th, the auditorium of Mobile World Capital Barcelona will host presentations on the 5G-PPP European projects and an informative session about the 5GBarcelona initiative:
11:00h – 5G CAR
5GCAR (Fifth Generation Communication Automotive Research and Innovation) is a Phase 2 H2020 5G-PPP project coordinated by Ericsson that aims at developing a 5G end-to-end architecture for V2X services.
11:30h – 5G MONARCH
The diversity of services and use cases of 5G require a flexible, adaptable and programmable architecture. 5G-MoNArch is the project that will evolve the concepts developed in Phase 1 of 5G-PPP to a fully-fledged architecture, develop prototype implementations and apply these prototypes to representative use cases.
12:00h – 5G XHAUL
5G XHAUL is an H2020 project devoted to the development and configuration of Small Cells and Cloud-RANs.
12:30h – 5G IA
5G Infrastructure Association (5G IA) is the association representing the 5G PPP private sector, while the European Commission represents the public sector. 5G IA brings together a global industry of telecommunications providers, operators, research institutes, universities, vertical sectors and PIMEs.
13:15h – 5GBarcelona
This session will present the 5GBarcelona strategy and the opportunities that this open laboratory has to offer.
